USCIS Announces Expansion of the Premium Processing Service
August 28, 2006
On August 18, 2006, USCIS announced that it will expand its premium processing service, which allows petitioners to pay a $1,000 premium processing fee in exchange for 15-calendar-day processing of their case. USCIS will expand the program to include I-140 immigrant visa petitions for two employment-based immigration categories: EB-3 Professionals (for employees with bachelor degrees who are members of their professions) and EB-3 Skilled Workers (for employees whose positions require two years of education, training or experience).
The expanded premium processing service began on August 28, 2006. Along with the expansion of the program, USCIS has revised the required Request for Premium Processing Services form, Form I-907, and requires the revised version of that form as of August 28. Prior versions of the form will not be acceptable after that date.
