Adam J. Taliaferro practices in the area of employment law and litigation, representing clients in a variety of employment law matters, as well as representing clients in the gaming industry in a wide range of legal matters. He has helped clients with regard to the evaluation of National Football League (NFL) contracts and helped created NFL contract proposals for clients. He has planned and formed limited liability companies on behalf of professional athletes in the NFL and the National Basketball Association. Prior to starting his legal career, Mr. Taliaferro interned with the National Football League Players Association, where he assisted NFL players with their retirement benefits.
Mr. Taliaferro was the subject of the 2001 book, Miracle in the Making: The Adam Taliaferro Story (Triumph Books). Mr. Taliaferro was a Penn State football player who suffered a spinal-cord injury after tackling an opponent headfirst during his freshman year. He was told that he had only a small chance of ever walking again due to the injury, but was able to overcome his paralysis and walked out of Magee Rehabilitation Hospital in just four months. He then led his team onto the field to start the next season. Mr. Taliaferro is the founding board member of the Adam Taliaferro Foundation, which provides emotional, financial and educational support to student-athletes who suffer catastrophic head or spinal injuries on the field. He was also the honorary chairman for the 2002 Special Olympics Summer Games.
Mr. Taliaferro has received many awards, including the 2009 Philadelphia Sports Writers Humanitarian Award and Bank of America's Neighborhood Excellence Initiative Award.
As of January 2012, Mr. Taliaferro is a member of the Board of Freeholders of Gloucester County, New Jersey.
Mr. Taliaferro is a 2008 graduate of Rutgers School of Law – Camden and a graduate of Pennsylvania State University.
