Catherine L. Sakach concentrates her practice in the area of commercial litigation, including defense of class actions and intellectual property litigation. Ms. Sakach has defended numerous class action suits in both state and federal courts. She has represented national companies and local governments in consumer fraud class actions, including settlements, dismissal of proceedings on terms her clients found favorable prior to class certification and denial of class certification. Many of these class actions involve allegations of improper charging of fees.
Ms. Sakach also has represented clients in complex intellectual property litigation in the federal courts and has obtained early settlements prior to the issuance of any injunctions. She has significant experience representing financial institutions in cases involving breach of contract, fraud and Slayer's Act claims.
Ms. Sakach is a 1996 magna cum laude graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University.
