Leah J. Poynter practices in the area of intellectual property litigationwith a focus on patent litigation, as well as related technology litigation.
Ms. Poynter is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Atlanta and American bar associations, and the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers. She also serves as a volunteer attorney with Georgia's One Child, One Lawyer program, providing pro bono advocacy on behalf of abused and neglected children.
In 2007, Ms. Poynter was recognized with the inaugural Duane Morris Pro Bono Award for outstanding pro bono work. As the award recipient, Ms. Poynter was able to designate a $5,000 firm donation to Georgia's One Child, One Lawyer Program.
Prior to becoming a litigator, Ms. Poynter worked as a writer and editor for the Eisenhower National Clearinghouse for Mathematics and Science Education, a program of the United States Department of Education.
Admitted to practice in all Georgia state courts and the Northern District of Georgia, Ms. Poynter is a 2003 magna cum laude graduate of Georgia State University College of Law, where she was lead articles editor for the Georgia State University Law Review. In 2002-2003, Ms. Poynter served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Justice Carol W. Hunstein of the Georgia Supreme Court. Ms. Poynter holds a Master of Arts degree in French from The Ohio State University and received her B.A. from Tulane University, summa cum laude.

Representative Matters
- Part of trial team that won jury verdict for a major Internet service provider accused of infringing three patents related to ADSL technology, in which the jury found the patents not infringed and invalid on numerous grounds.
