Michael L. Ziegler practices in the area of health law. With over 30 years of experience in health law, Mr. Ziegler has advised healthcare providers such as hospitals, practitioner groups, home healthcare agencies, mental health facilities, long-term and acute care facilities, ambulatory care clinics and alternative healthcare delivery systems. Mr. Ziegler also has provided legal counsel to health-related businesses such as physician practice management companies, radiological imaging centers, physical fitness and rehabilitation programs, durable medical equipment suppliers and group purchasing organizations.
Additionally, Mr. Ziegler advises clients on all regulatory issues, including professional licensure issues such as advertising, fee splitting, referral fees and general rules of professional conduct; institutional licensure issues such as the legal forms of organization, certificate of need and staff membership privileges; and third party reimbursement issues such as fraud and abuse. Mr. Ziegler also provides advice on issues raised by commercial transactions affected by the regulatory environment of the healthcare industry.
Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Ziegler was an assistant professor at Columbia University. He currently serves as an adjunct professor with New York University and the State University of New York.
