Richard T. Apiscopa is an associate in the Trial Practice Group. Mr. Apiscopa focuses his practice on insurance coverage matters, representing domestic and foreign insurers as coverage and monitoring counsel in the areas of financial institutions, directors and officers insurance, employment law, and environmental matters. Mr. Apiscopa is an experienced litigator, managing all facets of litigation, from pre-litigation claims to trials and appeals.
A member of the New York State Bar Association, Mr. Apiscopa is a 2000 graduate of Boston University School of Law and a graduate of the State University of New York at Albany.

- Represented SIPC excess insurers in disputes arising from insolvency of broker dealers.
- Represented insurers of regional and national energy providers in coverage disputes arising from various environmental matters.
- Handled insurance coverage matter involving professional liability policy and dispute among project owner and contractors on large transportation project. Used effective advocacy and discovery regarding notice and claims to avoid $15 million in exposure through summary judgment win for client. Southern New Jersey Rail Group v. Lumbermens Mutual Casualty Corp., 2007 WL 2296506 (S.D.N.Y.).
- Represented insurer subrogated to policyholder's claims in environmental coverage dispute. Dealt with legal issues related to potentially responsible parties and state and federal environmental regulations. Won summary judgment ruling for client. State of Vermont Agency of Natural Resources v. Stonington Ins. Co., et al.
