Steven M. Richman practices in the areas of commercial and international law and litigation, including real estate, corporate/shareholder disputes, contracts, construction litigation, energy law, art law, arbitration, secured transactions, intellectual property, bankruptcy and antitrust.
Mr. Richman is secretary of the Board of Trustees of the New Jersey State Bar Foundation and former chair of the International Law Section, Antitrust Committee, and New Jersey Lawyer Magazine Editorial Board. He is a former member of the Board of Trustees of the New Jersey State Bar Association. In addition, Mr. Richman is a member of the editorial board of The New Jersey Lawyer newspaper.
Within the American Bar Association, Mr. Richman has twice received the Outstanding Subcommittee Chair award within the Litigation Section, as well as an award for Outstanding Newsletter Editor for the Trial Practice Committee newsletter. He currently is communications officer for the ABA International Law Section, a vice chair of the International Litigation Committee of the ABA International Law Section, a member of the ABA House of Delegates, and a member of the ABA Human Rights Institute Advisory Council. He also is publications officer of the Sales Committee of the International Bar Association and co-communications officer of the Professional Ethics Committee. Mr. Richman has written numerous legal articles and books on federal civil practice and international, bankruptcy, commercial and constitutional law and political issues and is a frequent CLE lecturer.
Admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York and California, he is a 1980 graduate of New York University Law School, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif, and a graduate of Drew University.

- Obtained summary judgment for Niscon, Inc. in a products liability action arising from an accident in which an actor fell through a trap door of a bridge on the set of the Broadway production of the musical The Little Mermaid. The court determined that Niscon could not be held strictly liable because there was no evidence that the automation software it provided to allow remote operation of the trap door was defectively designed or malfunctioned. Bailey v. Disney Worldwide Shared Services, et al., Index No. 113072/08 (N.Y. Sup. Ct, N.Y. County Feb. 10, 2010).
