Suzan Jo focuses her practice on complex commercial and securities litigation in federal courts, state courts and arbitration forums such as FINRA, CBOE, JAMS and AAA. Ms. Jo also represents institutional and individual clients in regulatory actions and investigations by the SEC, NYSE and FINRA and advises large and small companies on corporate compliance matters involving anti-money laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).

Admitted to practice in New York and Florida, Ms. Jo is a 2003 graduate of New York University School of Law and a cum laude graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook.

Representative Matters

  • Obtained on behalf of The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York an order granting a motion to dismiss a complaint which alleged a breach of a settlement agreement, copyright infringement and false advertising under the Lanham Act. Klauber Brothers, Inc. v. Russell-Newman, Inc. and The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc.
  • Ongoing representation of a broker in an auction rate securities case involving over $500 million brought by a publicly traded Fortune 500 company.
  • Represented a New York Stock Exchange specialist firm in a federal class action lawsuit in which the lead plaintiff was the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS).
  • Represented a major broker-dealer in a disciplinary action brought by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) involving mutual fund break points.
  • Represented a New York Stock Exchange floor specialist in a disciplinary action brought by the New York Stock Exchange involving market manipulation.
  • Advised Fortune 500 companies on FCPA matters in connection with the companies' merger and acquisition activities.
