More recently, he served as vice president of intellectual property for Integrated DNA Technologies, Inc., a company that performed research in DNA-based technologies, where he was responsible for patent and trademark prosecution and product clearance opinions, and was involved in drafting and negotiating license agreements.

Dr. Gould is a 1996 graduate of the University of Houston Law Center and a graduate of the University of Iowa (Ph.D.) and the University of Illinois (B.S.).
