William L. Weiner practices in the area of healthcare law. Mr. Weiner represents physicians and group practices as well as privately-held companies. His practice focuses on commercial transactions and healthcare. As corporate counsel to buyers of healthcare debt, Mr. Weiner has negotiated and drafted agreements for purchases of millions of dollars of healthcare receivables from various hospitals and health systems. Mr. Weiner also provides a wide array of services for physicians and their practices, including advice on billing and reimbursement, corporate governance, medical staff and regulatory issues, and the sale, merger and reacquisition of practices. In addition, he represents owners and operators of traumatic brain injury centers and nursing homes and a large physician hospital organization. He has also been retained by local hospitals to present legal seminars to their residents and medical staff and advise hospital administrators on regulatory and other issues, including those relating to practice acquisition and divestiture and proposed joint ventures. For closely-held businesses, Mr. Weiner provides general corporate services, designs and drafts employment and shareholders' agreements, partnership agreements and limited liability operating agreements, and assists with the purchase and sale of businesses. He is also outside general counsel to North America's leading specialty stainless steel wire company.

Prior to entering the practice of law, Mr. Weiner served as law clerk for the Hon. J. Sydney Hoffman of the Superior Court of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Weiner is a 1983 graduate of Dickinson School of Law and a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania.

Representative Matters

  • Closed a deal on behalf of Anchor Inne, Inc. to sell the assets of a traumatic brain-injury center, which it owned and operated in western Pennsylvania, to a nationally well-known owner/operator of nursing homes, assisted-living centers and similar facilities. In addition, as part of this transaction, Anchor Inne, through a related entity, West Lake Associates, leased the real estate on which the center is located to the asset buyer.
