Duane Morris partners Peter V. K. Funk, Jr. and James W. McTarnaghan and special counsel Matthew E. Ross will speak at the Renewable Power Project Finance in Austin, Texas. The seminar will be held at the DoubleTree Hotel Austin on December 11 - 13, 2006, and will provide comprehensive training on how to finance renewable energy projects.
Renewables are hot and getting hotter by the day. Renewable projects, however, have a variety of constraints and intrinsic economics very different from conventional thermal energy projects. To gain maximum benefit from the boom in renewables, developers need to get the latest and best insight into the distinct peculiarities of the renewable financing market from the most experienced players in the field. On Wednesday, December 13, 2006, Peter V.K. Funk and Matthew Ross will present the "Case Study: Financing a Biomass-to-Biomethane (Including Electricity) Projects." This presentation will explore the opportunities and challenges involved with biomass to biomethane projects. It will discuss issues such as the financing options available for on-site bio-digester plants, contracts with property owners financing possibilities, pricing considerations relating to gas sales to utilities and other purchasers, and, if cogeneration is included, power purchase contracts and incentives.

Pre-Conference Workshop
Peter V.K. Funk and James McTarnaghan will speak on Monday, December 11 at a pre-conference workshop. Their presentation, "Structure and Negotiation of Key Project Finance," will address key project contracts, such as the EPC, equipment supply agreements, PPA/office-take agreements, loan agreements and other project documents, and explain how these documents are structured to allocate risks and define cash flows. They will also discuss the impact of regulation upon contract documents and major issues in the negotiation of key project contracts.
