Duane Morris Partner Charles W. Whitney to Speak at Energy in the Southeast Conference
June 12, 2008 | Atlanta
| Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead
Duane Morris partner Charles W. Whitney will be a member of the faculty for the Energy in the Southeast conference held by Law Seminars International on June 12 and 13, 2008, at the Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead. Mr. Whitney will take part in the panel "Perspectives on Nuclear Power as a Reemerging Resource Option: Factors Driving Interest in New Nuclear."
About the Conference
Who Should Attend
Attorneys, industry executives, government officials and customer representatives involved with energy issues in the Southeast.
Why Attend
The economic and political landscape for energy markets and resource development is continually changing. In the coming year, utilities will face increased pressure to develop, integrate and sell new resources and to improve the infrastructure for existing resources. A variety of energy investments and programs are underway or on the drawing board, and activity in the Southeast energy industry will only increase.
Challenges for the region's energy industry intensify with global climate change, high and volatile commodity prices, the need for massive investments in demand-side solutions, generation and transmission, and the push for greater energy diversification. These issues present opportunities for creative discussion and regional solutions. What are the recent developments in state and federal policies, and the most effective and creative strategies for satisfying these policies? What measures are utilities taking to build supply and quell demand-side growth?
This conference brings together local, state and federal authorities to provide an update on current issues and strategies to address future energy needs.
