Duane Morris partner Charles W. Whitney will be a faculty member for the University of Houston Law Foundation's Oil, Gas and Energy Law course, to be held on May 1-2, 2008, in Houston; on May 8-9, 2008, in Dallas; and by video replay on June 26-27, 2008, in Austin. Mr. Whitney's presentation is titled "Nuclear Energy from the Ground Up" and will take place at 1:25 p.m. on the first day of each session.
About the Course
This course is a concentrated review of oil, gas and energy law for the advanced practitioner. It will focus on important aspects of energy law today, including joint ventures and strategic alliances, joint operating agreements, natural gas contracts, wind energy, nuclear energy, LNG projects, ethics, Texas Railroad Commission issues, failure to deliver or receive the commodity, electricity transactions, ERCOT, FERC initiatives in deregulation of gas and power, biofuels and other renewable energy, climate change legislation, insurance and indemnity issues, choice of entity, and confidentiality and consulting agreements in the energy business. Course participants will receive practical information they can put to immediate use upon returning to the office on Monday.
