Duane Morris Partner Peter V.K. Funk, Jr. to Speak at the World Energy Engineering Congress Conference

Duane Morris partner Peter V. K. Funk, Jr. will be speaking at the World Energy Engineering Congress (WEEC) Conference, to be held October 1-3, 2008, in Washington, D.C. Mr. Funk's presentation, titled "Cogeneration and Emergency Generation in Healthcare Facilities," will take place Thursday, October 2, from 3 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
This presentation will cover the legal and transactional considerations from the engineer's, contractor's and healthcare facility owner's respective viewpoints as to installing cogeneration and emergency generation in healthcare facilities. Topics will include but not be limited to, contracting, tariffs, utility interconnection, sale of capacity/power, healthcare financing, obtaining state healthcare certificates of need and developing safety plans for residents when installing cogeneration and emergency generation. The presentation will include a case study regarding nursing home owner's experience with installing cogeneration that has application to other healthcare facilities such as hospitals and assisted-living facilities.
