Duane Morris partner Peter V.K. Funk, Jr. will be moderating two panel discussions at Energy Efficiency Summit East 2008, to be held on December 8-10, 2008, in Washington, D.C. Mr. Funk will moderate the following panels on Wednesday, December 10: "Investors' Perspectives on Investment Strategies for Energy Efficiency-Driven Sectors," from 8 a.m. to 9:15 a.m., and "Opportunities for Utility Technology Applications—Smart Grid, AMI and Energy Storage Systems for Demand Management & Response," from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Investors' Perspectives on Investment Strategies for Energy Efficiency-Driven Sectors
This panel of venture capital and equity investors will discuss the overall prospects for energy efficiency and demand management technologies, as well as the potential market in residential, commercial and industrial sectors for energy efficiency technologies.
Opportunities for Utility Technology Applications—Smart Grid, AMI and Energy Storage Systems for Demand Management & Response
Major efforts are underway in the U.S. to increase the intelligence of the grid and increase the information flow to and from customer sites. This panel will examine the current state of technology and progress being made to overcome the hurdles of introducing new technologies in a traditionally conservative industry.
About the Summit
The Energy Efficiency Summit East 2008 will explore the current status and future direction for energy efficiency and demand management programs, technologies and finance. It will bring utilities and ESCOs together with emerging customer groups such as data centers to explore the opportunities for expanding the use of energy efficiency and demand response technologies. Regulatory authorities will examine how to foster the implementation of energy efficiency and demand response, while investors and technology developers will provide an overview of new technologies that reduce energy usage in residential, commercial, utility and technology sectors.
