About Asia Business Conference 2009
The Asia Business Conference is an annual gathering jointly organized by student organizations of the Harvard Business School, the Harvard Law School and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Now in its 18th year, it is the largest Asia-focused business conference in North America. The conference aims to foster meaningful discussion on policies and trends that dominate the business and legal institutions of modern Asia. To this end, the conference organizes a series of keynote speeches, plenary sessions, topical panels and social events featuring distinguished leaders from industry, government and academia who have intimate experience with Asia. It will place a keen focus on Asia in the context of the current state of the world. Over this past year, the world has seen a number of new developments led by unpredictable economic, political and social forces. Faced with the emergence of the current global financial crisis, the recent historic presidential election in the U.S., an ongoing debate on environmental sustainability and renewed concerns of national security and regional stability, we are once again reminded of both the dynamism and fragility of the world we live in today. In this whole new world of constant change, we will examine Asia along several key dimensions, from continuous economic development to radical changes in foreign policy.
