About the Conference
With the growth of the East Asian Region gaining momentum, and the assertion of rights and choices finding greater expression, alternative dispute resolution has assumed renewed significance in the Far East.
This Conference, organized by the Malaysia Branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, highlights emerging issues and current concerns in dispute resolution, including those pertaining to the region's dynamic Oil and Gas and Construction activities; hotly debated aspects of Islamic Banking and Financing; the intrigues posed by a potpourri of culture and legal traditions; and the challenges faced across the globe by conventional methods of dispute resolution in remaining relevant through changing times.
Not limited to discussions on arbitration alone, the Conference weaves the various mechanisms for dispute resolution through its two-day program, drawing in key players of the vibrant East Asian industries. This International Conference is held in conjunction with the 2008 Congress of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators convened in Malaysia, and is set to benefit from the synergy in minds of experienced arbitrators and visionary entrepreneurs.
