Duane Morris Partner Hope Krebs to Speak at New York University's Summer Institute in Taxation

Duane Morris partner Hope P. Krebs will be a lecturer at New York University's (NYU) Summer Institute in Taxation, to be held on July 13-24, 2009, in New York City. Ms. Krebs will present two courses. In "U.S. Taxation of Foreign Persons," occurring on Monday, July 13, she will discuss the following:
- Source of income;
- U.S. trade or business;
- Effectively connected income;
- FDAP income;
- Withholding taxes;
- FIRPTA;
- Branch profits tax;
- Branch level interest tax;
- Earnings stripping; and
- Anti-conduit financing.
Ms. Krebs will also present on the topic of "Passive Foreign Investment Companies," on Wednesday, July 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
