Duane Morris Partner Marvin G. Pickholz to Participate in ABA Section of Public Contract Law Teleconference
June 25, 2009 | Teleconference
Duane Morris partner Marvin G. Pickholz will be a participant in an ABA Section of Public Contract Law teleconference, "Implementing Compliance Programs and Conducting Investigations When Compliance Fails," to be held on June 25, 2009 at 12 noon Eastern time.
About the Teleconference
The government has developed a zero tolerance level for fraud and abuse. It expects that corporations will self-police to ensure that the laws are complied with. Corporations are also expected to detect any violations of laws, ethics, and regulations by its employees.
This program will explore the basics of a good compliance program. Additionally the faculty will discuss why no compliance program is perfect and that failures in compliance will occur despite a corporation's best efforts.
The government expects that a good corporate citizen will investigate to discover the source and cause of the wrongdoing, remediate that offense, and adjust internal controls to avoid any further reoccurrence. Our all-star faculty will offer practical tips on how to meet the aforementioned government standard.
