The Duane Morris Private Equity Forum Presents "Private Equity Futures: The Changing Dynamics for GPs and LPs"

The Duane Morris Private Equity Forum will present a panel discussion and reception, "Private Equity Futures: The Changing Dynamics for GPs and LPs," the second in a series of events examining current issues and best practices in the private equity marketplace. The event will take place on Thursday, September 24, 2009, from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Boston.

Bruce R. Evans, Panelist, Summit Partners
Bruce R. Evans is a Managing Director in the Boston office of Summit Partners, a private equity and venture capital firm for rapidly growing companies. Bruce serves on Summit Partners' Board of Directors, Executive Committee and
Investment Committee. He is active in Summit's private equity and venture capital investment activities in North America and Europe. Bruce joined Summit Partners in 1986. Prior to Summit, he worked as a marketing representative in Louisville, Kentucky for IBM Corporation’s Data Processing and National Accounts Divisions. In 2007 and 2008, Bruce was ranked within the top 25 of the Forbes Magazine Midas List, an annual ranking of top technology investors.
Lane MacDonald, Panelist, Harvard Management Company
Lane MacDonald is a Senior Vice President in the Private Equity Group at Harvard Management Company. Lane was previously a General Partner at Alta Communications for eight years where he focused on originating and managing private equity investments in the media, internet and telecom services industries. Prior to Alta, Lane was a Principal at J.W. Childs Associates, a private equity firm specializing in leverage buyouts and recapitalizations of middle market growth companies. Previously, he worked at BancBoston Capital (the private equity division of FleetBoston) and held investment-banking positions at Robertson Stephens & Company. Lane graduated with honors from Harvard University with a degree in Economics and received an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Lane was also a member of the 1988 U.S.A. Olympic Hockey Team.
Michael R. Bailey, Panelist, HighVista Strategies
Mike is a member of the Manager Selection Team at HighVista Strategies, with a focus on private investments. Previously, he was Director, Private Equity at Lucent Asset Management Corporation—the team responsible for managing Lucent's pension plans. Prior work experience includes 15 years in the investment banking divisions of Deutsche Bank and J.P. Morgan. Mike received a B.A. in Economics from Northwestern University.
Martin Shulkin, Panelist, Duane Morris LLP
Mr. Shulkin is the managing partner of Duane Morris' Boston office, a member of the firm's national governing Partners Board, and a member of the national steering committee of the Corporate Practice Group. He focuses his practice on counseling businesses, particularly in the areas of entity formation, corporate governance, succession planning, mergers and acquisitions, emerging businesses, venture investments, intellectual property licensing, and corporate and commercial finance.
