Duane Morris Partners Jonathan Armstrong and Sandra Jeskie to Speak at Law Seminars International TeleBriefing on Data Privacy for Multinationals
February 24, 2010 | TeleBriefing
Duane Morris partners Jonathan P. Armstrong and Sandra A. Jeskie will be speaking at the Law Seminars International TeleBriefing, "Data Privacy for Multinationals: New Challenges for International Business," on Wednesday, February 24, 2010, at 12 p.m. (Eastern time); 11 a.m. (Central time); 10 a.m. (Mountain time); and 9 a.m. (Pacific time). Mr. Armstrong will provide an introduction and overview as well as address this topic from a European perspective. Ms. Jeskie will discuss the topic from a US perspective.
Data privacy is one of the big compliance issues of 2010. New regulations in Europe and the US make data privacy issues a real challenge for any corporation doing business internationally—and their advisors. The penalties are getting tougher too—fines of more than $1.5 million have been levied, and lawyers have been charged with criminal offenses for data issues.
In this one-hour TeleBriefing, a panel that includes the head of GE's privacy program and leading lawyers from Europe and the US will address recent and anticipated legal changes and look at the current compliance landscape in Europe and the US. Call in from anywhere to learn about the new regime and what it means for multinationals.
The program will explore the following:
- Recent changes in data-security regimes in Europe and the US Implications for international business
- How to navigate the new compliance landscape
Audio recording and materials will be available for those unable to attend the program.
