Duane Morris' Private Equity/Venture Capital Practice Group will present its third Private Equity Executives Forum, "The New Rules for Dealmakers," on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, from 2:30-6:30 p.m. at the InterContinental New York Barclay Hotel in New York City. Join us for an in-depth discussion of the new rules for private equity and how changing economics have shifted the way we think about the marketplace.
Speakers
David Snow, moderator of the forum, is editor-in-chief of PEI Media, a leading provider of information on alternative assets globally. David also serves as editor for the Americas for Private Equity International magazine and PEI Manager magazine. In early 2000, he co-founded and served as editor-in-chief of PrivateEquityCentral.net, a New York–based website providing industry news and information to accredited investors.
Marc A. Cabrera is a managing director and head of the Healthcare Group and Miami office of Morgan Joseph, a full-service investment banking firm dedicated to serving middle-market companies. In his career, Marc has served as an advisor to hundreds of publicly traded and privately held companies and completed over 90 M&A and financing transactions, valued in excess of $14 billion.
Mike Gaffney is co-founder and managing director of EDG Partners, with more than 10 years of private-equity investing experience. Prior to the founding of EDG, Mike was a partner at Allied Capital Corp., where he led that firm’s healthcare investment strategy, focusing on mezzanine and equity growth capital, buyout and recapitalization investments in healthcare services, insurance services and other health-related companies.
Mark J. Schwartz is the founder and CEO of Palladin Capital Group, which acquires, provides capital for, and assists in managing a diverse group of corporations, primarily in the consumer products industry. Mark has taken on a number of roles in these companies, including chairman and CEO. Most recently, he was the CEO and president of Gordon Brothers Group, in which he sold his ownership position in 2009 to focus on other investments and restructurings.
George J. Nemphos is a corporate attorney and the managing partner of Duane Morris' Baltimore office. George advises private and public companies, venture capitalists, angel investors, private equity funds and emerging businesses. He represents clients in the high-tech/telecom, manufacturing, capital markets, life sciences and homeland security industries in M&A, compliance and general corporate matters.
