August 20, 2010 | Atlantic City, New Jersey
| Bally's Hotel & Casino
Duane Morris partner Gilbert L. Brooks will be speaking at the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education's (NJICLE) 2010 South CLEfest, to be held on Friday, August 20, 2010, in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Mr. Brooks will present on "Casino Law 2010: Game On!" from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
New Jersey ranks with Las Vegas as a top casino gambling destination. Despite the beach, boardwalk, entertainment and gaming facilities, the local casino industry is facing challenges. New Jersey is now surrounded by new gaming offerings from other states. Gaming on New Jersey's borders has created competition but also opportunities for the practitioner. Thousands of state residents and businesses are in some way connected with the daily operations of these facilities—either for pleasure or business.
Currently, the legislature, regulators and the industry are creatively working to increase New Jersey's gambling opportunities. If you practice in the areas of corporate law, construction law, labor and employment law or casino law, or if you are a general practitioner interested in this important area of New Jersey law, this program provides a unique opportunity to learn about gaming law from industry insiders, regulators and legal authorities.
Learn the latest about casino law developments in New Jersey, including:
- A legislative update on new bills involving video lottery terminals, horse racing, and Internet gambling.
- The future of sports gambling in New Jersey—and elsewhere.
- The views of the Casino Control Commission on regulation and growth of the industry.
- The perspective of industry executives and in-house counsel.
