Duane Morris partner Jocelyn Margolin Borowsky will be speaking at the Delaware Tax Institute's "Time to Take Your Medicine" program, to be held on Friday, November 12, 2010, in Wilmington, Delaware. Ms. Borowsky will participate in a panel discussion on "Recent Developments in Estate Planning," from 10:30 a.m. to 11:50 a.m.
About the Program
The focus of this Delaware Tax Institute seminar is "New Health Care Reform Taxes, Lapse of Bush Tax Cuts and Other Initiatives." The keynote speaker will be Karen L. Hawkins, director of the IRS Office of Professional Responsibility. Other topics to be discussed include: income and estate and gift tax updates, a discussion of recent tax legislation and compliance initiatives, and fundamentals for tax professionals. In addition, the following learning objectives will be explored:
- Define the changes and new developments in current legislative, regulatory, and judicial income, estate, and gift tax.
- Identify recent federal a nd state income, estate, and gift tax planning considerations.
- Differentiate a business perspective from a tax perspective on business transactions encountered in a tax and/or legal practice.
