August 30, 2011 | Philadelphia | CLE Conference Center, Wanamaker Building

Dawnn Briddell and Chris SorianoDuane Morris attorneys Dawnn E. Briddell and Christopher L. Soriano will be speaking at the Pennsylvania Bar Institute's Primer on Mechanics' Liens and Bond Claims CLE seminar, to be held on August 30, 2010, at 12:30 p.m. at the CLE Conference Center in the Wanamaker Building in Philadelphia. The event will also be simulcast at several locations, and is also available as a live webcast.

About the Seminar

Mechanics' liens and bond claims are among the most powerful weapon in the arsenal of an unpaid contractor, subcontractor, or supplier. However, a claimant`s ability to use these powerful tools can easily be lost if strict attention is not paid to the statutes governing such claims. This course will provide an overview of the requirements of the Pennsylvania Mechanics Lien Law, including how a lien can be lost, and the nuisances in Pennsylvania and Federal Bond Laws.

Our expert panelists will address these issues, among others:

  • Who can file a mechanics lien claim?
  • What projects are subject to a mechanics lien claim?
  • What are the specific requirements for filing a mechanics lien claim?
  • Common mistakes made that caused mechanics lien claims to be stricken
  • When are payment and performance bonds required?
  • Who can make a claim on a performance or payment bond?
  • What are the requirements for making a performance or payment bond claim?
