About the Energy in California Conference
With California's renewable energy goals driving significant investment in generation and transmission, we now see a complex and interesting confluence of challenges and opportunities. This conference will examine the interface between the need for flexible generating resources to fill in for variability in supply and the challenge these resources face with fuel supply and economic viability. California is not isolated as it grapples with balancing the system, upgrading infrastructure to handle new generation and addressing cost implications. It will examine the initiative underway to explore a western balancing market, as well as the regional planning mechanisms for new transmission infrastructure and the impact of FERC Order 1000 on regional transmission and cost allocation. The current state of California energy markets, regulation, legislation and the potential issues that determine success will also be explored, FERC Commissioner Marc Spitzer will discuss the fit between federal policies and what's happening in California.
This is the thirteenth year that Law Seminars International has explored cutting-edge issues affecting the electric industry. Join us for a comprehensive discussion of the issues and take advantage of this opportunity to meet with industry leaders, regulators and policy makers on a local, state and national levels.
