About the Program

In a challenging economy, the phrase "business as usual" no longer applies. In an environment of intense financial pressure, burdensome regulation and zealous enforcement, it is vital to manage the risks you know and mitigate the ones that are not yet visible.

Presented by Duane Morris and Grant Thornton, "Risk Management: No Longer Business as Usual" offers a new approach to risk management—blending the perspectives of professionals who manage and mitigate risk. At our exclusive roundtable, legal, accounting and consulting leaders; regulatory and enforcement officials; and your peers in the C-suite will share strategies on avoiding deal risks, protecting the board and avoiding ethical pitfalls during and after a crisis. With insights that address the full risk spectrum, you will leave with a clear understanding of known risks and how to plan for the unknown, as your business moves forward.

Session Information

Please note that the first two sessions are concurrent and you will be asked to choose one upon registration.

Session 1: Doing Deals in a Challenging Market

In a challenging market, doing business is different. Our panelists will discuss the operational and financial issues of dealmaking in difficult market conditions, including due diligence; financing considerations; structuring a distressed deal; and how exit strategies differ in this market.

Session 2: Counseling Your Company / Board of Directors in Times of Trouble

When your company comes under scrutiny, what types of issues and increased responsibilities will your board face? Our panel provides insights and strategies on managing regulatory compliance and reputational risk during crisis situations.
