Duane Morris partner Neville Bilimoria will be presenting on "CILAs and OIG Investigations: A New Era of Increased Enforcement Against DD Facilities" at the Illinois Nursing Home Administrator's Association 2011 Annual Convention and Trade Show on November 1 in Springfield, Ill.
In 2010 the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) of the Department of Human Services (DHS) dramatically stepped-up enforcement against CILA homes and developmental disabilities nurses alleging instances of neglect on a system- wide basis, oft times with disastrous results for the nurse and the agency involved. Recent efforts to combat OIG in this area have been hard fought and show no signs of stopping. CILA providers and nurses alike should hear about this ongoing battle in Illinois, and learn how to combat allegations of neglect of residents of CILA homes.
