Duane Morris partner Sheila Hollis will chair a panel on the "Future of U.S./Canada Energy Supply Relationship" at the American Bar Association's (ABA) Section of Public Utility, Communications and Transportation Law's Annual Spring Program on Monday, April 16, 2012, in Washington, D.C.
The focus of this spring's program is "Regulation and Policy for 2012 and Beyond—Regulation in a Presidential Election Year." This one day program will explore the impact of regulation on regulated industries against the backdrop of election year politics and policy. We will take the opportunity to focus our review on the energy, telecommunications and transportation segments of our Section. The program will include a discussion of changes in the business of energy generation prompted by environmental regulation; the impact of the Keystone Pipeline project on the U.S./Canada energy supply relationship; the promotion of "Connecting America"; and opportunities for public/private partnerships in rail transportation projects.
The "Future of U.S./Canada Energy Supply Relationship" will explore the tenuous, and changing relationship between the two countries, and how it may continue to change with economic and energy developments. Panelists include Kristine Dulkas, executive of TransCanada Pipeline Company and Skip Horvath, president of the Natural Gas Supply Association.
