Duane Morris Partner Stanley Kaminski to Teach "Services Sales and Use Tax Issues"
May 2, 2012 | Atlanta
| Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center
Duane Morris partner Stanley Kaminski will be teaching "Services Sale and Use Tax Issues" at the Cost 2012 Intermediate/Advanced Sales Tax School on Wednesday, May 2, 2012.
The COST 2012 Intermediate/Advanced Sales & Use Tax School is a four-day intensive program designed for tax attorneys and accountants with more than three years of multi-state corporate tax experience, involved in either compliance or planning functions. The emphasis of the school is on practical applications of state tax issues in a corporate environment. The courses are taught using the case-study method and are intended to expose students to the theoretical knowledge and strategic insights of outside experts, along with the practical expertise of in-house practitioners.
The states want more revenue but they do not want to face the wrath of the voters by increasing the state and/or local sales and use tax rates. Increasingly, the states have augmented the revenue base by taxing more services, leaving the burden of the expanded tax base to fall squarely on the business sector. This session will help you sort out the different sales and use taxes imposed on services that impact business and assist you in minimizing your exposure to these taxes.
