Duane Morris Special Counsel Michael Swit to Speak on "How Do You Look in Pinstripes? Understanding the Potential Criminal and Civil Liability Faced by Officials in FDA-Regulated Companies"
June 7, 2012 | Irvine

Duane Morris special counsel Michael Swit will be a plenary session speaker addressing the vital subject of "Understanding the Potential Criminal and Civil Liability Faced by Officials in FDA-Regulated Companies" at the 15th Annual
FDA-OCRA Educational Conference on Thursday, June 7, 2012.
The FDA-OCRA Educational Conference is a unique event co-sponsored by the FDA and OCRA that affords attendees maximum interaction with both Los Angeles District and Washington-based FDA personnel. Over the years, the collaborative efforts of FDA and OCRA have brought FDA and industry staff together for this Educational Conference, with wide-ranging, highly informative discussions of some of the most relevant topics.
The Responsible Corporate Officer (RCO), better known in FDA parlance as the "Park Doctrine," can lead to criminal prosecution and exclusion from federal programs, drastic enforcement options that are becoming more and more common. One might be surprised at what actions can make a person unemployable in the medical products industry, and throw in whistleblower laws and you can have the perfect storm. Mr. Swit will explore the exposure faced by corporate officials at all levels of a company and provide advice on how to minimize the potential for liability both for attendees and their company's leadership.
