Duane Morris partner John Nixon be a panelist at ALI-CLE's two-day CLE program on "Retirement, Deferred Compensation, and Welfare Plans of Tax-Exempt and Governmental Employers," on Thursday, September 20, 2012 and Friday, September 21, 2012, in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Nixon will examine "Restraints on Benefit Cutbacks Under Governmental Plans—Who's Winning and Who's Losing?" as well as "Other Current Issues for Governmental Plans." Both of these sessions take place on the afternoon of Thursday, September 20.
The program examines recent developments affecting tax-favored retirement plans (IRC §§401, 403(a), 403(b), and eligible §457 plans), nonqualified plans (IRC §§83, 409A, and 457(f)), and welfare plans. It features extensive updates by a distinguished faculty highlighted by 15 current government officials who make and administer the rules and by leading benefits professionals experienced in working with these benefit programs. The faculty reserves time throughout the program for registrants' questions. The course is designed for attorneys, accountants, actuaries, consultants, human resource professionals, and administrators responsible for understanding Internal Revenue Code, ERISA, and other federal rules on employee plans of tax-exempt and governmental employers.
