Duane Morris Partner Stanley Kaminski to Examine "Sourcing: Who Gets the Tax? Mitigation Issues at the Local and State Level"

February 26, 2013 | Washington, D.C. | Four Seasons Hotel

Stan KaminskiDuane Morris partner Stanley Kaminski will discuss "Sourcing: Who Gets the Tax? Mitigation Issues at the Local and State Level" at the Council on State Taxation (COST) 2013 Sales Tax Conference on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, in Washington, D.C.

In this afternoon breakout session, speakers will review the different ways sales tax is sourced at state and local jurisdictions and the importance of understanding local sourcing for proper sales tax collection. The session will include a discussion of recent litigation, and the differences and potential changes in local sales tax sourcing. Discussion will cover the Streamlined Sales Tax Agreement approach to local sourcing and how recent congressional proposals on the taxation of internet sales could impact local sourcing laws.

The goal of the COST Sales Tax Conference/Audit Session is to bring multistate tax professionals, who have various levels of experience in state and local transactional taxes, together in a group environment that allows for interaction and exchange of information as well as updates on key issues and insights regarding state tax trends and opportunities. The conference features presentations of the most recent transactional tax topics and includes breakouts that are in-depth discussions for maximum coverage of sales and use tax issues and transactional tax audit sessions, offering a state-by-state exchange of information on legislative, audit, judicial and regulatory issues.
