Duane Morris Special Counsel Kenneth Shropshire to Moderate "Investment in Human Capital"

May 22, 2013 | Philadelphia | Lincoln Financial Field

Kenneth ShropshireDuane Morris special counsel Kenneth Shropshire will moderate the "Investment in Human Capital" panel during the Impact of Sports conference on Wednesday, May 22, 2013.

Sports can help focus young adults and provide leadership skills, discipline and a sense of teamwork. Around the country, sports media highlight the benefits of the investment of human capital. Panelists will explore the concept of "human capital" with respect to the youth in the community, including the media's influence on and responsibility to the youth of America and the world in terms of how sports and elite athletes are portrayed. Discussion will also include commentary on the challenge of balancing the media's responsibility to provide information on sports, sports teams and the individual athlete while still respecting the sport, team and athlete's privacy. Members of the panel will also discuss their perspectives on how media, including their organizations, impact sports, and how the outside world perceives the sports world.
