Duane Morris to Host "Nanometric Sensors"
June 3, 2013 | Boston
| Duane Morris LLP
Duane Morris is pleased to host a Massachusetts Technology Transfer Center (MTTC) Platform Meeting on Monday, June 3, 2013, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the firm's Boston office. The meeting will showcase Steve Lerner, CEO of Nanotero Inc., who will present "Nanometric Sensors."
The company offers an early stage non-invasive lung cancer diagnostic with the opportunity to save 1 million U.S. lives in 10 years. This assumes current chemotherapy efficacy and Alnion diagnostic accuracy, which is 90%, vs. 15% for current CT scans which irradiate the patient and cost considerably more than that of the company's test. Assuming the company enters the market simply as a non-invasive monitor to every CT scan being performed, and sells 1 disposable chip to perform the test, that is a $1B market in the U.S. alone. In reality, there should be many more of these tests performed than current CT scans.
