June 27, 2013 | Bloomington, Illinois
| Doubletree Hotel
Duane Morris partner Neville M. Bilimoria will speak at the Illinois Health Care Association's symposium "Meet Your Managed Care Organization," to be held on Thursday, June 27, 2013, at the Doubletree Hotel in Bloomington, Illinois. Mr. Bilimoria's program is titled, "Managed Care Contracting For Long Term Care: A New Era of Reimbursement in Illinois."
About the Program
Negotiating managed care contracts for providers can be a daunting task. But with the advent of Medicaid Managed Care in Illinois, negotiating Medicaid Managed Care contracts presents an even greater challenge. Neville Bilimoria has written a book chapter on the subject of managed care contracting and lessons learned. He has negotiated and revised contracts against the top managed care companies across the country and litigated against them on behalf of providers. Learn what to look for in your managed care contracts and how they will effect reimbursement for Medicaid long term care services.
In addition to Medicaid Managed Care, providers will also need to negotiate Managed Care contracts for Dual Eligible recipients. Matt Murer will focus on the most important clauses for providers to review and negotiate and will also discuss what providers need to consider and plan for as these contracts and insurance plans evolve over the next 5 - 10 years.
At the conclusion of this session, the participant should be able to:
- Identify important aspects and specific provisions in managed care contracts and the nuances and challenges they present for long term care providers.
- Identify and discuss important contract provisions to negotiate and revise in managed care contracts for the long term care profession.
- Explain their rights as providers as well as the practical road blocks that exist in the successful implementation of these contracts. Discuss important developments in Medicaid Managed Care and problems and issues encountered in other states with Medicaid Managed Care Organizations.
- Implement strategies for dealing with problems that arise under these contracts.
