Jim Krieg Allison CooperSAN FRANCISCO, March 11, 2013—Duane Morris is pleased to announce that James C. Krieg and Allison Lane Cooper have joined the firm's Trial Practice Group as partners in its San Francisco office. The attorneys further strengthen Duane Morris' trial practice in commercial litigation, particularly in the areas of professional liability defense, fiduciary liability, legal ethics and commercial disputes. Krieg and Cooper join the firm from Krieg, Keller, Sloan, Roman & Holland LLP.

Krieg and Cooper represent many "Am Law 100" and mid-sized law firms throughout California, both in state and federal courts and in private arbitrations, as well as provide pre-suit and risk management consultations. They have defended clients in legal malpractice claims involving patent litigation, allegations of securities fraud, Ponzi schemes, transactional malpractice, errors of judgment in trial and litigation, breaches of fiduciary duties, errors in preparation of contracts and conflicts issues, as well as trusts and estates, tax and bankruptcy matters. They also represent law firm partners and shareholders in dissolution and fiduciary disputes.

Krieg has more than 35 years of experience defending lawyers. He is a member of the State Bar of California, the Defense Research Institute, the Federation of Insurance and Corporate Counsel (Professional Liability & Ethics Sections) and the Professional Liability Underwriting Society. He earned his J.D. in 1976 from Boston University and his A.B. in 1971 from Princeton University. He is admitted to practice in California and New York.

Cooper has more than 20 years of experience in representing lawyers. She has presented at the American Bar Association's Lawyers' Professional Liability Conference and writes for its Professional Liability publication, and also serves on the Executive Committee of the Bar Association of San Francisco's Legal Malpractice section. She earned her J.D. in 1990 from the University of Florida College of Law, where she was associate editor of the University of Florida Journal of Law and Public Policy and served on the school's moot court team and board. She earned her B.A. in 1987 in Speech Communications with high honors from the University of Florida. She is admitted to practice in California and Florida.

In January, Duane Morris also opened an office in Palo Alto, which concentrates in the areas of intellectual property law.
