Duane Morris Attorney Adam Taliaferro to Be Inducted into Camden County Sports Hall of Fame

PHILADELPHIA and CHERRY HILL, October 18, 2011—Duane Morris lawyer Adam J. Taliaferro has been announced as a 2011 inductee of the Camden County Sports Hall of Fame.
Camden County is hosting the annual Camden County Sports Hall of Fame Dinner on October 27, 2011, at Lucien's Manor in Berlin, N.J. Thirteen local athletes will be honored for their contributions to athletics, including Taliaferro; Art DiPatri; Stan Pawlak, Jr.; Jack Carty; Claire Harden; Ferne Labati; Judy Morgan; Jerry Gold; Tom Trotman; Bucky Waters; Patti Dunlap Patoulas; Steve Israel; and Terry Schaal Durkin.
Taliaferro, an attorney based in Duane Morris' Cherry Hill office, practices in the area of employment and litigation, representing clients in a variety of employment law matters. In addition, he counsels clients in the gaming industry in a wide range of legal matters. Taliaferro has helped clients with regard to the evaluation of National Football League (NFL) contracts and helped created NFL contract proposals for clients. He has planned and formed limited liability companies on behalf of professional athletes in the NFL and the National Basketball Association.On September 23, 2000, as a freshman at Pennsylvania State University, Taliaferro suffered a spinal-cord injury after tackling an opponent headfirst during a football game. He was told that he had only a small chance of ever walking again due to the injury, but was able to overcome his paralysis and walked out of Magee Rehabilitation Hospital in just four months.
Additionally, Taliaferro is the founding board member of the Adam Taliaferro Foundation, which provides emotional, financial and educational support to student-athletes who suffer catastrophic head or spinal injuries on the field. He was also the honorary chairman for the 2002 Special Olympics Summer Games and has received many awards, including the 2009 Philadelphia Sports Writers Humanitarian Award and Bank of America’s Neighborhood Excellence Initiative Award.
