ATLANTA and PHILADELPHIA, July 15, 2013—Duane Morris LLP is pleased to announce that it was named one of the leading IP firms in the United States by Managing Intellectual Property in its 2013 IP Stars supplement. The firm was ranked for its trademark prosecution practice and other trademark capabilities, was highly recommended for its IP practice in Pennsylvania and was recommended for its practice in Georgia. Lawyers in the firm's Boston, New York and Washington, D.C. offices were also cited as IP Stars.

IP Stars covers more than 80 countries, and the rankings are based on extensive research culled from market information from thousands of practitioners, according to the publisher. Managing Intellectual Property calls IP Stars "the most comprehensive and authoritative survey of the IP legal market yet published."

The Duane Morris Philadelphia office was called out for its "substantial growth" and "particularly strong reputation for handling contentious and non-contentious trade mark matters. Patent litigation, counseling and prosecution are also well-regarded practice areas within the firm." In Philadelphia, partners Samuel Apicelli, Peter Cronk, immediate past chairman of the Intellectual Property Practice Group Lewis Gould, Jr. and Steven Koffs were all singled out as IP Stars.

In Atlanta, chair of the IP Practice Group Woody Jameson was described by a peer as "a great trial lawyer with a national reputation." Patent litigation partner Matthew Gaudet was also noted for handling "notable" IP cases in jurisdictions around the country.

In Boston, Vincent L. Capuano, Ph.D., the national chair of Duane Morris' Hatch-Waxman IP practice group, and patent partner Anthony Fitzpatrick, co-chair of the firm's IP Litigation group, were cited as IP Stars. In New York, Greg Gulia, the co-chair of the Trademarks, Copyrights, Trade Secrets and Unfair Competition and the Entertainment and New Media Practice Groups, was cited. In Washington, D.C., Michael G. McManus and Rodney R. Sweetland III, co-chairs of Duane Morris' ITC Section 337 Litigation Practice Group, were cited.

The Intellectual Property practice at international law firm Duane Morris is recognized as one of the leading IP groups in the United States. In addition to Managing Intellectual Property, national publications, such as U.S. News and World Report, Intellectual Property Today and IP Law360, have all ranked Duane Morris among the leading law firms handling patents, trademarks, copyrights and related IP litigation.
