Duane Morris New York Office Adds Corporate Partner Brigitte R. Gambini

NEW YORK, July 19, 2011—Duane Morris LLP is pleased to announce that Brigitte R. Gambini has joined the firm's Corporate Practice Group as a partner in its New York office. With her depth of experience in corporate transactions in both France and the United States, Gambini's addition strengthens Duane Morris' international corporate practice. She joins Duane Morris from Sullivan & Worcester.
Gambini focuses her practice on corporate, finance and regulatory law and, in particular, domestic and cross-border commercial and project-finance transactions. She represents corporate clients in the U.S. in inbound and outbound investments with Europe. Gambini represents clients in cross-border corporate and transactional work, including joint ventures; mergers and acquisitions; corporate finance; international commercial agreements; international dispute resolutions; intellectual property; and international bankruptcy proceedings. She represents corporations in the equipment manufacturing, energy, luxury goods, high-tech, food and beverage, cosmetic, textile, publishing and entertainment industries.
Gambini has advised international corporate clients and high-net-worth individuals on their investments in, and divestments of, businesses or real estate (specific to high-net-worth clients) through the sale or acquisition of shares or assets or through mergers; in the negotiation of commercial agreements, e.g., distribution, franchise, licensing, manufacturing, and corporate-lease and equipment financings; and in the resolution of complex commercial, trademark and patent disputes.
Gambini has previously served as the resident partner of the New York office of a French independent law firm and has also worked as an international corporate attorney in Paris and New York. She previously served as deputy general counsel and special counsel at the European headquarters of two Fortune 100 multinational companies. Gambini was a member of a steering committee of the Consulate General of France in New York in preparation of the French presidency of the European Union.
Gambini is a member of the American Bar Association Section of International Law, the New York State Bar Association, the International Bar Association and the Paris Bar Association. She is a member of the Commission Pratique a l'International (International Practice Commission) of the Paris Bar and of the Association of the Lyonnais of New York. She is a member of the ABA Section of International Law's International Commercial Transactions, Franchising and Distribution Committee, vice-chair of the Section's Foreign Legal Consultants Committee, and a former member of the European Affairs Committee for the New York City Bar.
Gambini earned her J.D., cum laude, in 1978 from Lyon III University in Paris, where she also earned her LL.M., magna cum laude, in Comparative Law in 1980 and her LL.M., cum laude, in Private Law in 1979. Gambini received her Master of Comparative Jurisprudence in 1982 from New York University School of Law, where she was a Fulbright Scholar (1981–1982). She is admitted to practice in Paris, France, and is licensed as a legal consultant in New York. She speaks English, French and German.
