Duane Morris Partner Lida Rodriguez-Taseff Receives "Women Extraordinaire" Award
MIAMI, November 30, 2011—Duane Morris partner Lida Rodriguez-Taseff of the firm's Miami office has been selected to receive Business Leader magazine's "Women Extraordinaire Award" for Miami. The award recognizes the top women business leaders in the southern United States who have demonstrated significant business achievement and community involvement. Rodriguez-Taseff will accept the honor on December 12 at the Treetop Ball Room in Miami.
Rodriguez-Taseff handles state and federal jury trials, bench trials, arbitrations and administrative trials in the areas of business and contract disputes, employment and trade secrets, construction defects and bid protests. In addition, she has represented clients in noncompete and intellectual property cases. Rodriguez-Taseff also handles employment matters, including employment discrimination and retaliation trials, and voting rights issues.
Rodriguez-Taseff currently serves on the board of directors for LatinoJustice PRLDEF; is co-chair of South Florida Jobs with Justice, a membership network of individuals and organizations working toward sustainable economies in the region; and is chair emeritus of the Miami-Dade Election Reform Coalition.
Rodriguez-Taseff is a committed advocate for local arts organizations and actively serves on the board of the Miami Light Project. She is also secretary and education co-chair of the Bass Museum of Art, where she is involved with the museum's innovative program, IDEA@thebass. The program uses art to stimulate children's critical-thinking skills.
Rodriguez-Taseff is a 1992 graduate of the New York University School of Law, where she was a Root-Tilden-Kern Scholar and a recipient of the Vanderbilt Medal, the highest honor bestowed by NYU. She is a graduate of the University of Miami and is fluent in Spanish.
