Duane Morris Special Counsel Aaron J. Greenfield Receives 2011 "Leadership in Law" Award from The Daily Record
November 28, 2011
BALTIMORE, November 28, 2011—Aaron J. Greenfield, a special counsel of international law firm Duane Morris LLP in its Corporate Practice Group in Baltimore and a managing director at public affairs firm Duane Morris Government Affairs, received one of The Daily Record's 2011 "Leadership in Law" awards. Greenfield and the other award recipients were honored at a November 18 reception at the Hotel at Arundel Preserve in Hanover, Md. Winners were also profiled in a special insert included in the November 21 edition of The Daily Record.
The "Leadership in Law" awards began in 2000 as a way to recognize the outstanding work by members of the legal community in Maryland. Award nominations are submitted by readers, area law firms, bar associations, chambers of commerce, and the business and legal communities at-large. Nominees are then asked to complete an application explaining their accomplishments, and the winners are selected by a panel of judges.
At Duane Morris, Greenfield practices in the areas of corporate law and government relations, representing public and private companies. In his capacity as managing director at Duane Morris Government Affairs, he represents corporate clients in varying industry sectors before local, state and federal governments.
Greenfield represents an international coalition of Holocaust survivors and family members in their attempt to hold French railway company Société Nationale des Chemins de fer Français accountable for its role in transporting 76,000 Jews and U.S. and Canadian prisoners of war to slaughter and imprisonment during the Holocaust. His efforts contributed to legislation recently passed by the Maryland General Assembly requiring companies bidding on commuter rail contracts to disclose whether they transported victims to Nazi concentration camps, and to digitize and post archives online before such a vendor is awarded a contract.
Greenfield is a graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law and the University of Maryland College Park.
