Duane Morris' Lauren DeBruicker to Be Presented with 2013 Champion in the Community Award for Leadership on Disability Issues
PHILADELPHIA, May 3, 2013—Duane Morris is pleased to announce that partner Lauren DeBruicker is to be honored by Magee Rehabilitation Hospital at its 13th Annual Night of Champions fundraiser on Friday, May 3, 2013, at Penns Landing Caterers. DeBruicker will receive a 2013 Champion in the Community Award.
A wheelchair user since 1991, DeBruicker is a frequent speaker on issues of disability in the workplace, has advised many in the community on issues of access and home healthcare, and has negotiated accommodations in housing and employment for people with disabilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act and other laws. DeBruicker serves on the boards of many local charities and is a Magee peer mentor and member of Magee's President's Council.
DeBruicker practices in the areas of commercial and insurance coverage litigation, with an emphasis on matters involving intellectual property. She has litigated multimillion-dollar cases in areas ranging from drug delivery systems and pharmaceutical products to Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephony systems, computer software and photography. DeBruicker has tried cases to verdict in courts across the country and obtained results consistently affirmed on appeal. Through targeted discovery and strategic motion practice, she has been particularly effective in helping clients resolve their business disputes efficiently, successfully and, when desired, out of court.
