Duane Morris Adds Health Law Partner Martin Monaco, Jr., in Princeton
PRINCETON, March 22, 2010—Duane Morris LLP is pleased to announce that Martin L. Monaco, Jr., has joined the firm as a partner in its Health Law Practice Group. Monaco's addition strengthens Duane Morris' capability in the area of transactional law related to the healthcare industry in New Jersey and nationally. Monaco joins the firm from Fox Rothschild LLP, where he was a partner.
Monaco focuses his practice in the areas of health law and tax. He represents numerous nonprofit organizations in the healthcare industry, including hospitals, nursing homes, universities and charities in general corporate, tax and M&A matters. In addition, he advises domestic and foreign business entities in governance, contract negotiations and commercial business transactions. He also provides domestic and foreign tax advice to corporate entities.
Previously, Monaco was a senior member and leader of Deloitte & Touche's New Jersey Health Care Practice Group. In that role, he counseled a range of healthcare organizations on domestic and foreign tax matters.
Monaco is the general counsel and a board member for Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) New Jersey. He also serves on the board of the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway, an acute-care community hospital. He is a member of the New Jersey Healthcare Financial Management Association and the American Health Lawyers Association.
Monaco earned his J.D. and M.B.A. in 1985 from Seton Hall University School of Law and Seton Hall's Skillman School of Business. He earned an LL.M. in 1989 in Taxation from Villanova University School of Law.
