Governor Rendell Appoints Ken Davis to Board of BFTDA

Managing Director of Public Affairs Management LLC Appointed to Board of Pennsylvania Technology Funding Initiative

Philadelphia, January 2 - Kenneth Davis, Managing Director of Public Affairs Management LLC, a government relations consulting firm affiliated with Duane Morris LLP, among the one hundred largest law firms in the nation, has been appointed a member of the Ben Franklin Technology Development Authority (BFTDA) Board of Directors by Governor Edward G. Rendell.

The BFTDA is one of the largest single state technology development programs in the nation with $53.3 million in funding. The BFTDA charter is to encourage and coordinate programs and investments which advance the competitiveness of Commonwealth companies in the global economy. A number of BFTDA programs offer financial and technical assistance to businesses, entrepreneurs, communities, local governments, educators, and non-profit organizations.

The Board of the BFTDA consists of 21 members, including one representative from the local government sector. Ken Davis is a member of the Lower Merion Township elected Board of Commissioners.

Ken has served as a senior legislative and administrative assistant to Senator Hugh Scott in Washington, D.C. Subsequently, he was named Director of Government Relations for Rohm and Haas, the Philadelphia-based chemical manufacturer. He has also held posts in the administrations of state and city governments. Among his roles was serving as a member of former Mayor Edward G. Rendell's Private Sector Task Force on Management and Productivity. In that capacity, he directed and wrote a study of the city's commercial and economic development policies.
