Duane Morris Adds New Partner to New York Office; Firm Expands IP Practice with Addition of Brian McQuillen
NEW YORK, FEBRUARY 7 -- Duane Morris LLP, one of the nation's 100 largest law firms, has added a new partner to its New York office. Brian McQuillen will bring his patent litigation experience to Duane Morris' dynamic Intellectual Property practice. He joins Thomas F. Meagher, like McQuillen formerly of Kenyon & Kenyon. Meagher joined the firm in October.
"Brian's extensive experience will blend well with our strong IP practice in New York," said Lewis F. Gould, Jr., chair of the firm's Intellectual Property Practice Group.
"We are delighted to welcome Brian," said Robert J. Hasday, managing partner of Duane Morris' New York office. "Our clients will benefit from his excellent background in patent litigation, counseling and licensing."
McQuillen, 36, has litigated patents for such companies as Hewlett-Packard Company, Dean Witter Discover & Co. (now part of Morgan Stanley) and Nan Ya Plastics of Taiwan. He also advises clients on product clearance, patent procurement and patent licensing.
McQuillen has litigation experience in a number of technologies, including synthetic materials, alternative fuel supply systems and computers (hardware, software and networks).
Prior to his work at Kenyon & Kenyon, Brian worked at Perkins Coie LLP in Seattle, where he litigated patents and participated in mediations.
Brian received his J.D. in 1995, graduating from New York University School of Law. He earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University in 1991, with Pi Tau Sigma and Dean's List honors.
