Duane Morris Adds New Manager to Tax Accounting Group
PHILADELPHIA, JANUARY 14 - Duane Morris LLP, one of the nation's 100 largest law firms, has added a new manager to its Tax Accounting Group. James J. Newhard will work out of the group's Philadelphia office.
"We are delighted to welcome James to the group," said Michael A. Gillen, director of Duane Morris' Tax Accounting Group. "His wide range of experience will provide substantial benefits to our practice group and the firm."
James J. Newhard, CPA has more than 25 years experience providing a wide variety of tax planning and compliance, accounting, and advisory services to individuals, corporations, partnerships, nonprofit entities, estates and trusts. Mr. Newhard has worked with a wide range of entities, from start-up companies to publicly-owned entities. He is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) and will serve as the PICPA Greater Philadelphia Chapter President-Elect effective May 2005.
He has served as the PICPA Greater Philadelphia Chapter Treasurer and Chapter Secretary , and currently serves on several PICPA committees, including the Committee on Practitioners, Budget & Finance, CPA Image Enhancement, Management of an Accounting Practice, Local Taxation & Government Committee, the Executive Committee, and Chapter Task Forces for Member Services. Additionally, Mr. Newhard serves as the editor of the Practitioner's column for the Pennsylvania CPA Journal, and is a regular contributing author.
Mr. Newhard is a member and treasurer of Rotary Club of Conshohocken - Plymouth - Whitemarsh, the financial secretary for Parish Knights of Columbus, and sits on the Advisory Board of Salvation Army of Montgomery County. He graduated from Rider University in 1979 with degrees in Accounting and Management (Organizational Behavior).
