Duane Morris Attorney David T. Sykes Elected President of the American College of Bankruptcy

PHILADELPHIA, May 3, 2005 - David T. Sykes of the Duane Morris Business Reorganization and Financial Restructuring Practice Group, has been named President of the American College of Bankruptcy, an honorary professional and educational association of distinguished bankruptcy professionals. He will serve a two-year term. He joins Evelyn H. Biery of Fulbright & Jaworski LLP in Houston, chair of the College, in its leadership.

David, a charter Fellow of the College since 1990, will lead this distinguished group of 633 Fellows, which includes Duane Morris partners John Collen of the Chicago office, William S. Katchen of the Newark office, Neil P. Olack of the Atlanta office and Margery N. Reed of the Philadelphia office.

"We are delighted to learn of David's new position," said Sheldon Bonovitz, Chairman of Duane Morris. "David has been a real leader during his career with our firm, and we're confident that he will continue to exhibit outstanding leadership in his new role as President of the American College of Bankruptcy." In addition to his role as former chair of the Duane Morris Business Reorganization and Financial Restructuring Practice Group, David is also a former Vice Chair of the firm.

In the 2004 Chambers USA Guide to America's Leading Business Lawyers, Duane Morris is listed as having one of the top three insolvency practices in Pennsylvania and David is described as "one of the deans of the Pennsylvania bar." David is also listed in The Best Lawyers in America and is certified as a business bankruptcy specialist by the America Board of Certification. He is the co-founder of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania Bankruptcy Conference, of which he is a past chairperson, and he was the first president and a co-founder of the Consumer Bankruptcy Assistance Project.

David is a graduate of Temple University School of Law and Hamilton College. He served as a shipboard officer in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1962.

The American College of Bankruptcy seeks to develop and sustain professional excellence in this rapidly expanding field. College Fellows include commercial and consumer bankruptcy attorneys, insolvency accountants, turnaround and workout specialists, law professors, judges, government officials and others involved in the bankruptcy and insolvency community. Nominees for Fellows are extended an invitation to join based on a record of achievement reflecting the highest standards of professionalism.

Criteria for selection of College Fellows include ethics, character, integrity, professional experience and leadership contributing to the enhancement of bankruptcy and insolvency law and practice; sustained evidence of scholarship, teaching, lecturing or writing on bankruptcy or insolvency; and commitment to elevate knowledge and understanding of the profession and public respect for the practice.
