Duane Morris Elects Three New Partners; Expands IP Practice Depth
PHILADELPHIA, July 21 - Duane Morris LLP, one of the nation's 100 largest law firms, announced that two of its associates and one special counsel in the Intellectual Property Practice Group have become partners of the firm. This practice, one of the fastest growing in the firm, has added nearly two dozen IP attorneys during the past year, to a total of 55 attorneys, of whom more than 30 are patent lawyers and 8 are trademark lawyers. The firm's IP litigators number 37, of whom 16 are patent litigators.
The new partners are: Gary D. Colby and John M. Neclerio, both of the Philadelphia office, and Paul A. Schwarz of the Princeton office.

Gary Colby, Ph.D., practices in the area of intellectual property law for biotechnology, medical and chemical technologies. Gary has extensive experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications, analyzing issued patents and published applications, and negotiating and drafting technology transfer agreements. Registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and admitted in Virginia, Gary is membership chair of the Philadelphia Intellectual Property Law Association. He is a 1996 graduate of Georgetown University Law Center and earned his doctorate in anaerobic microbiology at Virginia Tech, from which he also earned a B.S. in chemical engineering.
John Neclerio has represented software companies and resellers, manufacturers, distributors and other types of companies engaged in transacting B2B and B2C e-commerce, as well as Internet service providers, including application service providers, managed security service providers and Web site hosting companies. John has represented a variety of businesses at the various stages of growth from start-up structuring and financing through corporate expansion via stock or debt placement and mergers and/or acquisitions to the development of exit strategies.
John is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Florida. He is a member of the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia bar associations and the Florida Bar. John is a 1994 graduate of Emory University School of Law, a graduate of the Roberto C. Goizueta Business School of Emory University (M.B.A.) and a graduate of Duke University.
Paul Schwarz focuses his practice on patent prosecution and opinion work with an emphasis in semiconductor, liquid crystal display, digital video and television technologies, electronic business, opto-electronic, material science and mechanical arts.
Paul served as a patent examiner in the United States Patent and Trademark Office and has more than seven years of engineering experience at New Jersey and Connecticut corporations in technical ceramics and electronic component manufacturing. Registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, he is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association. He is a 1990 graduate of the Thomas M. Cooley Law School and holds a degree in ceramic engineering from Alfred University.
