Trial Partner Hyman Schaffer Joins Duane Morris' New York Office

NEW YORK, August 17 - Duane Morris LLP is pleased to welcome Hyman Schaffer, formerly of Arkin Kaplan LLP. Hyman will join the firm's expanding Trial Practice Group in its New York office.
Hyman brings more than 25 years of litigation experience that includes nearly fifteen years working with renowned trial lawyer Stanley S. Arkin. His practice has primarily focused on corporate and commercial disputes, litigation relating to the financial services and investment banking businesses and mergers and acquisitions. Throughout his career, he has gained extensive knowledge of developing complex strategic litigation-based solutions for corporate boards, business entities and individuals. In addition to his litigation practice, he negotiates employment and severance contracts for senior management and counsels corporate committees and boards on issues of governance. Prior to entering private practice as an associate at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, where he practiced for nearly a decade, Hyman served for two years as law clerk to the Honorable Leon Lazer, an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Appellate Division.
In 1979, he earned his J.D. cum laude from Brooklyn Law School, where he was also the Senior Editor of the Brooklyn Law Review. He received his A.B. in Political Science and Philosophy from New York University in 1976.
